“Kukui calm down, I just wanna talk okay?” Al said as he held onto the struggling piglet, his expression becoming more concerned “Just hold still and chill for five seconds.. I wanna help you..!”

Kukuimon struggled against the athlete's grip, his movements growing more and more frantic. "Molucca Bomb!" he cried, firing a nut towards Alemana's feet. In a white flash, the tamer was blinded, the sudden shock loosening his grip enough for Kukuimon to break free. Al could hear the piglet land in the grass, could hear him scurrying off just as the teen's vision began coming back into focus.

Al gave a surprised yell as he was blinded “Dammit!” He would rub at his eyes, fumbling as he got up and tried to follow the sound of rustling grass. “Wait a second—!” And then he tripped on a tree root, knocking the breath from his lungs as his vision fully cleared. “Kukuimon!”

No response came from the masked piglet, the sound of his rustling through the greenery fading with every passing second. Moments later, Al could hear Malie's voice somewhere behind him.

"Al?" she called aloud. "Al, is that you? Kukui? Where are you guys?"

“I’m here!” Al called out hoarsely as he got up out of the tall grass, rubbing his now scraped knee “Damn it..”

The longhaired girl stepped into view as Alemana looked over his shoulder.

"Al, what happened?" she asked, rushing over. "Did you find Kukui?"

“I did.. but he scampered off,” Al said as he turn tries to hide his bleeding knee

"Scampered off?" echoed Malie. She stared out into the foliage only to glance back at Al. Her eyes followed the boy's arm down to where his hand touched at the wound. "You're bleeding," she said, reaching for her digivice. "I'll call Kukui, he can fix it."

Al would gently take hold of her hand “no no, I’m okay really! It was just a stupid accident on my part.”

Malie paused, glancing back towards the greenery. "Well okay," she said, lowering her digivice. "I'm still confused about what happened, though."

Before Alemana could speak, Renamon's voice entered the back of his mind. ("Al,") she thought. ("I'm almost at the house. Should be there in five.")

“We had a talk and— Huh, Renamon is almost here!”

"Really?" asked Malie. "Is Vivi with her?"

Renamon continued her own conversation. ("I've got good news and bad news,") thought the vulpine. ("We'll go over it once I get there.")

(Is Vivi with you?”) Al asked as he would gently take hold of Malie’s hand “I’m not sure. Care to call Kukuimon? It seems important.”

("No. She's heading for the hospital, they wanted to do some tests to make sure she wasn't exposed to anything.")

Nodding, Malie pulled up her digivice. Alemana could hear the ringtone as the longhaired teen put it to her ear. A frown began pulling at the sides of her mouth.

"Why isn't he answering?" she said. Lowering the digivice, she stared down at the screen. She opened the map function to find a green-and-brown arrowhead somewhere on the outskirts of the property. "I should go check on him," she said, turning away. "There's rubbing alcohol and bandages in the bathroom next to the stairs."

(“Oh … but she’s okay right?”)

That wasn’t surprising, but it still made him uneasy “Want me to help you look for him?”

(“We have something going on with Kukui.. not sure what, but I kinda fucked up.”)
